Job Title: CR/DR Level II Technician

Pro Tect Associates Inc is seeking a highly skilled CR/DR Level II Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified individual to conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of structures, pipelines, and other components using Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Radiography (CR). The successful candidate will possess Level II certification in UTT, MT, and PT, as well as expertise in multiple NDT methods and a willingness to engage in ongoing learning and application of skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct NDT inspections of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate NDT methods to perform inspections, including RT, CR/DR, UTT, MT, and PT.
  • Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products or materials.
  • Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing techniques.
  • Complete documentation and work orders thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required timeframes.
  • Drive Company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Provide instruction to assigned assistants and ensure the safety of the entire team.
  • Perform general cleaning and minor maintenance duties to maintain company vehicles, routinely inspect equipment, and maintain shop areas in a clean, orderly, and functional condition.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Insurability through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier
  • Level II Certification in RT with CR/DR, UTT, MT, and PT
  • State Card is required
  • Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, conducting inspections and testing in various locations. The ability to work long periods of time, up to 16-hour days, and respond to callouts on short notice is essential. The candidate must also be able to work at heights, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, and work in confined spaces.

  • Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within 20 inches). Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to right or to left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
