We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Whirlwind Steel Buildings, Inc. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our maintenance operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our facilities, equipment, and machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance of our facilities, including HVAC, building lighting systems, production lines, grounds keeping, security, and overall facility appearance.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment, and machinery.
- Capital Projects: Oversee the engineering, design, and installation phases of new equipment, line upgrades, and other capital projects.
- Preventative Maintenance: Manage the preventative maintenance and Maintenance Work Order Systems.
- Performance Management: Coach, counsel, and manage the performance of direct reports.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to support plant operations.
- Communication: Communicate daily with the Plant Superintendent and internal personnel from Production and Quality Control to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals.
- Documentation: Manage documentation for OSHA inspection requirements.
- Experience: Proven experience as a maintenance manager or another managerial role, with at least 8 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Education: BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
- Skills: Proven experience in planning maintenance operations, logical and abstract thinking, solid understanding of technical aspects of electrical control, PLC & HMI programming, CNC systems, Servos systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, HVAC, plumbing, industrial electricity, etc.
- Knowledge: Knowledge in safety, inspection, and maintenance on overhead cranes, 5S, Kanban, and Poke-yoke programs, hooks and chain inspections per OSHA, basic machining concepts, and facilities machines, equipment, and buildings.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills in multiple settings, ability to be an engaging change agent and culture-creator, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate, and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS or related software.
The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds, and possess mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work areas.
