Position Overview

The role of the Travel Nurse RN involves delivering exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients within advanced imaging settings. This position requires a dedicated professional who can effectively manage high-acuity cases and assist in intricate procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The Travel Nurse RN will be responsible for:

  • Independently executing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of pediatric patient care.
  • Providing care in diagnostic imaging and advanced imaging, including Interventional Radiology and/or Interventional Cardiac MRI.
  • Assisting with complex procedures in the IR suite and at the bedside, utilizing sterile techniques.
  • Administering care to patients undergoing cardiac stress testing and more complex MRI procedures.
Job Requirements
  • Active CA RN license
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Interventional Radiology
  • Some pediatric experience preferred
  • BLS (AHA) certification
  • PALS (AHA) certification
Schedule Information
  • Shift/Hours: 4x10 Days with variable start times
  • Call Requirements: 2 call shifts per week; up to 4 call shifts per week as needed based on census.
Additional Information
  • Valid photo ID is required upon arrival.
  • Traveler must present front and back copies of the photo ID on their first day.
  • Engagement in procedural nursing with 5-10 cases a day, pending add-on inpatient cases.
  • Patients will range from infants to young adults.
  • Utilization of medication systems such as Pyxis and Omnicell.
  • Effective communication using SBAR methodology.
  • Documentation through EPIC system.
