Job Summary and Responsibilities
In collaboration with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, the Critical Care Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care to meet the objectives of the nursing department. You will be an integral part of the team, accountable for positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients with critical illnesses and ventilator support.
- Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate protocols.
- Ensure efficient patient flow, including preparation for examinations and general nursing care.
- Educate patients and families on medications and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update with test results.
- Administer medications per physician orders.
- Monitor supply levels in patient rooms.
- Handle incoming calls and provide triage when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current RN license in the practicing state or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred, to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Prior experience in acute care nursing is essential.
