Financial Crimes Compliance Associate

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Crimes Compliance Associate to join our growing Legal and Compliance Team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing fraud risk for Vestwell and our clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze daily high-risk fraud indicators to identify suspicious activity across multiple reports.
- Review, research, and respond to escalated surveillance and screening alerts.
- Prepare detailed escalation memos to alert clients of potential suspicious activity.
- Collaborate with Client, Operations, and Services Teams to track, research, and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations.
- Log and track all suspicious activity information to be used in management and client reporting.
- Contribute to various Legal and Compliance Team projects to help scale our growing business.
- Develop and implement improvements to procedures or platform features to enhance security reviews and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or criminal justice.
- Experience performing fraud detection or anti-money laundering functions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented skills, with a high degree of accuracy required.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with productivity tools, especially JIRA.
- Experience with research tools like LexisNexis.
Vestwell offers a competitive salary range of $60K - $70K, eligibility to participate in the Company Bonus Pool, and new hire equity in the Company. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, an open vacation policy, and a remote-hybrid office policy.
