Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Winsted, CT. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising shop floor personnel to meet business objectives, promoting and implementing quality, productivity, and ABS initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise an effective team, including planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, managing staffing levels, and prioritizing work assignments.
  • Provide effective feedback to employees, both positive and negative, and maintain appropriate documentation for all disciplinary actions taken.
  • Direct training and orientation of employees to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, and improve work performance.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operations, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Work with engineering to improve overall operational effectiveness and support and implement continuous improvement activities and set-up reduction.
  • Implement ABS principles, including housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety compliance for the manufacturing area.
  • Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in an aerospace industry is preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of expectancy with peers and subordinates
  • Ability to communicate effectively with support areas
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with computer applications
