Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team at Brio Living Services. As a key member of our Dining Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of food preparation, quality, and presentation to ensure that our residents receive delicious, nutritious, and safe meals in a warm and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of culinary staff, including conducting interviews, training, scheduling, supervising, discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and written job descriptions to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Conduct staff meetings and serve on committees to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with department budget and inventory management.
  • Prepare daily meals and assist with catering and events to meet the needs of our residents.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement menus with current and new recipes to ensure variety and quality.
  • Work with the dietitian to implement recommended changes and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage and organize department purchasing as needed to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of progressive culinary experience in a restaurant or long-term care dining services environment in a cook to order setting.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory, management, and coaching experience leading a culinary staff of 10 or more team members.
  • Three (3) years of food ordering and inventory management in a restaurant or long-term care dining services setting.
  • Three (3) years of catering production experience.
  • Certification or Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.
  • Allergen Certified preferred.
