Job Overview

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with a PsyD or Ph.D. to perform medical assessments on United States veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.

This role involves reviewing behavioral health records electronically through a secure web portal and conducting comprehensive assessments in person on each veteran. You will also complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through the web portal.

The licensed psychologist does not make disability determinations; instead, they will provide findings recorded in the DBQs for the U.S. Veterans Administration to use in making determinations.

This position only performs disability assessments on veterans and does not involve treating patients or prescribing medication. On average, you will review and assess four veterans per day.

You will be brought on as an independent contractor and work five days a week from 8 am to 4 pm. This is an in-person position requiring regular travel to assessment locations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree from an APA-accredited program
  • An active and unrestricted psychology license
  • Meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA
