Job Title: Service Porter

At Carlsbad Chevrolet, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Service Porter to join our team.

Job Summary

The Service Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our used vehicle lot, ensuring that our customers have a positive experience when visiting our dealership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the used vehicle lot in a neat and orderly condition, moving cars as directed by the used-vehicle manager and in accordance with dealership display standards.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of used vehicles, including the trunk, glove compartment, tires, windows, etc., as needed.
  • Pick up vehicles from and deliver vehicles to customers as directed by management.
  • Start vehicles daily and report any problems or concerns.
  • Pick up parts from the parts department.
  • Perform light maintenance on vehicles as needed, i.e., replace windshield wiper blades, repair or change tires, replenish fluids, etc.
  • Keep vehicles fueled.
  • Ensure that required forms/stickers have been completed and are properly displayed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. You should also be able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Education and Experience

No prior experience or training is required for this role.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
