Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of a radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. This includes verifying patient identity, reviewing medical records, and explaining procedures to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic radiological exams using various imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, and MRI.
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Set up equipment and acquire high-quality images as per script.
  • Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions from established protocols.
  • Communicate data to radiologists and provide post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, including quality of care, patient flow, and patient satisfaction.
  • Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
Requirements:
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training.
  • Strong analytical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Technical knowledge of imaging equipment and software, with ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
