Job Summary

Valiant Integrated Services is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and repair refrigeration units, including hermetic, semi-hermetic, mechanical, screw, scroll, and centrifugal units, up to 1400 tons.
  • Mount compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Perform complex repairs of system components, including compressors, condensers, heat pumps, regulators, fluid and refrigerant gas lines, valves, meters, gauges, thermostats, pumps, mechanical linkage, and electrical sensing devices.
  • Switch and control devices, including pneumatic controls, variable speed drives, digital controlled devices, electronic, hydraulic heating and cooling, and economizer systems.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and modifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
  • Install evaporator units in chassis or air-duct systems, using hand tools.
  • Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.
  • Cut and thread pipe, using machine threading or hand-threading equipment.
  • Join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solder joints, using a torch, forming complete circuits for refrigerant.
  • Install expansion and discharge valves in circuits.
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Install air and water filters in completed installations.
  • Inject small amounts of refrigerant into compressors to test systems and add freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressures.
  • Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.
  • Test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solutions.
  • Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.
  • Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have an HVACR license.
  • Strong background in chillers and refrigeration.
  • Ability to obtain access to federal installations.
