Phlebotomist Job Description

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires effective written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with minimal errors and complete accuracy, handle stressful situations, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform blood drawing procedures, including venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment.
  • Process and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring accurate billing information and patient demographics.
  • Transcribe physician orders, facilitate unobserved urine specimen collection, and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Train new hires in phlebotomy techniques and procedures, and remain competent in all assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • WA State MA-Phlebotomist or MA-C License
  • At least 6 months of recent, directly related experience in a clinical, hospital, or laboratory setting
