Position Overview:
Medical 3 (4NW):
Medical 3 is a 29-bed unit situated on 4 Northwest, forming part of the extensive Medical Surgical Division.
kidney ailments, falls, altered mental states, pain, respiratory difficulties, and various infections.
We believe that a solid foundation in Medical Surgical practices enhances critical thinking, broadens skill sets, and expands knowledge, while offering growth opportunities within our Magnet-designated organization.
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for performing supportive tasks related to patient care in designated departments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must possess one of the following: 1.)
Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, or military corpsman; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), which must remain active throughout employment; or 2.)
a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited Nursing program (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical training for ASN/BSN degrees or the first trimester for LPN; and c.) not hold current licensure in the U.S.
as a RN or LPN; or 3.)Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification:
Provide proof of successful completion of a Florida State Board-approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
For a comprehensive list of Florida State Board-approved programs, please refer to the relevant resources. Employees hired without the aforementioned licensure and/or based solely on years of experience prior to the specified cutoff will have the option to obtain the required licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with commonly utilized computer applications is preferred.
