The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, leadership, and program development, with a proven track record of success in similar roles.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative leadership and direction to the program, ensuring its smooth operation and growth.
- Develop and implement curriculum, including didactics and clinical training, to meet the needs of residents and the program's goals.
- Supervise and precept residents in clinical settings, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Oversee and teach didactics curriculum to residents, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of geriatric medicine.
- Assist with recruiting of residents, ensuring a diverse and talented pool of candidates.
- Develop, revise, and maintain curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and effective.
- Lead in residents' performance improvement plans, coaching, remediation, and disciplinary activities as needed.
- Ensure the Annual Program Evaluation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education WebAds are updated.
Requirements:
- 5 years experience teaching in an approved AOA or ACGME Internal Medicine/Family Medicine Residency or Geriatric Fellowship Program.
- Experience with publications and grant writing skills preferred.
