Under the guidance of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, or Registered Nurse, and in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, you will assist with a variety of direct and indirect patient care tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting patients with daily living activities, comfort care, and nutritional assistance.
- Executing specific diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as instructed.
- Indirect patient care responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and collecting relevant data pertaining to the patient population.
- Transporting patients within the facility while adhering to safety protocols. You will also maintain advanced knowledge and skills in transport medicine.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies is preferred.
Experience: Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience as an EMT-A, EMT-I, or Paramedic.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Must be certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintain National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP and ACLS certifications are required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP, and PHTLS or BTLS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Ongoing education hours must be maintained to meet re-certification requirements as mandated by State and National standards.
