  • Position Overview:
    • Engage in the prevention, assessment, and management of respiratory ailments through a variety of techniques, which include administering medical gases, oxygen treatments, ventilation support, airway management, bronchial hygiene, aerosolized medication delivery, respiratory rehabilitation, and other essential procedures under the guidance of a physician and supervision of a qualified Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Completion of high school education complemented by specialized training (ranging from 6 months to 2 years).
  • Experience Requirements:
    • Suitable for candidates at the entry-level stage.
  • Certifications Needed:
    • Enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by the AMA within three months of employment, with a commitment to achieving successful completion and obtaining State Licensure.
    • Valid BLS and/or CPR certification from recognized organizations or the ability to secure such certification within six weeks of employment.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strong proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
    • Prior experience in a clinical setting interacting with patients is preferred.
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Aid in the setup and monitoring of patient and ventilator systems.
    • Administer appropriate medical gases and oversee environmental control systems.
    • Safely and accurately deliver aerosolized medications.
    • Prepare and maintain respiratory care equipment.
    • Effectively manage artificial airways.
    • Document patient charges within the management information system.
