Trustee Position at The Wheel
The Wheel is on the lookout for a board member with substantial governance expertise to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and best practices.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Upholding the governing documents of the organization.
- Ensuring that the organization remains true to its charitable objectives for the benefit of the public.
- Acting in the best interests of the organization.
- Exercising reasonable care and skill in all decisions.
- Overseeing the management of the organization’s assets.

Key Duties:
- Offering strategic guidance to guarantee compliance with the Charity Governance Code.
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the organization, providing valuable insights and oversight during board meetings and other engagements.
- Engaging in policy formulation and execution as necessary.
- Assisting in the identification and management of risks as outlined in the Risk Register.

Essential and Desired Skills/Qualities:
- Profound understanding and appreciation of the Not-For-Profit sector.
- A commitment to the mission and values of The Wheel.
- Dedication to the highest standards of corporate governance.
- Personal experience with mental health challenges (either directly or as a family member) or a willingness to learn from those with lived experiences.

Board Meeting Structure:
- The board convenes for eight meetings annually, with opportunities to join or lead a Governance sub-committee. Meetings can be attended in person or online.
