Job Title: NEMT DriverAt Call the Car, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NEMT Driver to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a NEMT Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe and timely transportation services to our members, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport members to and from medical facilities and their homes in a timely and safe manner.
- Load and unload members safely from wheelchairs into and out of vehicles.
- Work as a solo driver to transport members and bariatric members.
- Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating patience, empathy, and compassion for member needs.
- Utilize company-provided vehicles and technology to determine the most efficient routes and locate hospitals, medical facilities, and member home addresses.
- Review and update schedules daily, ensuring accuracy and timely pickups.
- Complete assigned schedules daily, which may include additional unplanned trips or special requests.
- Accurately update transport status in real-time through company technology or by phone when necessary.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, free of damage, maintained, and in good working condition, communicating defects to leadership immediately.
- Sanitize and clean vehicles using authorized company cleaning supplies and tools.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and checklists at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain clear communication between members, dispatch, appointment facilities, dialysis centers, and CTC management.
- Communicate vehicle incidents and accidents to leadership immediately.
- Act with integrity and respect towards all coworkers, supervisors, vendors, members, and other third parties encountered while on shift and providing services.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment, schedules, traffic delays, unexpected events, road conditions, and weather conditions, following company safety practices.
- Use time efficiently and complete work in a timely manner.
- Comply with expectations of contracts and all applicable Federal, State, and Local Regulatory standards for driving and vehicle safety.
- Observe and report safety concerns of other healthcare drivers employed by the company or other healthcare transportation companies.
- Present oneself and the company in a professional manner.
- Adhere to CTC's policies and procedures, including HIPAA and FWA regulations.
- Use ADP Payroll System Mobile Application to track work hours, approve paid time, and request time off.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Competent verbal and written English skills.
- Valid Class C California driver's license or higher.
- Pass a Criminal Background Screening and Sex Offender Registry Search at time of hire and annually thereafter.
- Pass government exclusion listings at time of hire and monthly thereafter.
- Pass a driver history check at time of hire and continuously during employment.
- Pass and maintain valid certification for CPR/AED/First Aid and other required training programs during employment.
- Pass drug and/or alcohol screen at time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Pass a standard vehicle road test in our company vehicle at time of hire.
- Pass a medical examination, including a review of medical history by a licensed medical professional and demonstration of ability to lift, push, and pull.
- Be fully vaccinated as a term and condition of employment, with proof of COVID-19 vaccination required upon date of hire.
- Pass insurance driver standards at time of hire and maintain insurable status throughout employment.
- Pass additional screenings as mandated per government regulatory agencies, including Live Scan fingerprint national background checks.
- Experience using navigation software on mobile devices, such as Google Maps, Waze, Maps, etc.
- Availability to work hours ranging from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to remain in a seated position for extended periods and stand, kneel, bend, lift, push, and pull members frequently.
