Position: Registered Nurse

The Emergency Department provides a dynamic environment with a diverse patient population, offering the chance to engage with a wide range of medical cases. The orientation process spans up to six months, customized to meet the unique needs of each nurse. Our team fosters a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging strong relationships among providers and offering various roles within the department, including charge nurse and triage responsibilities, as well as access to educational resources such as ENA modules and TNCC classes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and their families, recognizing both typical and atypical health parameters based on extensive clinical experience. Utilize a patient-centered approach to develop care plans that prioritize the needs of patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in setting care objectives.
  • Exhibit proficiency and resourcefulness in executing the technical skills necessary for patient care. Stay informed about organizational policies and procedures, serving as a resource for colleagues and engaging other healthcare team members as needed.
  • Assess the effectiveness of care provided, demonstrating critical thinking by making informed clinical decisions and addressing potential issues proactively while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Understand the significance of research and evidence-based practices in nursing, taking initiative in responsibilities within the healthcare team and care delivery framework.
  • Support colleagues in developing department-specific knowledge and skills, becoming a recognized resource for clinical practices and operational systems, and leading the implementation of patient care standards.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Must possess an active New York Nursing license; out-of-state applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are necessary (new hires may obtain these during the introductory period).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduates from an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Frequent use of hands and fingers (e.g., typing); ability to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs), including equipment and supplies; capability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods; must be able to operate necessary equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite position.

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay range: $39.63 to $48.18.
