Job Summary
Jobleads-US is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining internal controls, supporting financial reporting, and providing accurate financial data for management review.

About the Role
As an Assistant Controller, you will work closely with the Controller and CFO to develop and maintain Intacct financial reports, setup and maintain accounting and budgeting systems, and provide training and guidance to departmental users of Intacct, Dynamic Budgets, and other Finance applications.

Responsibilities
• Setup and maintain all accounting and budgeting systems, including Sage Intacct and Dynamic Budgets or their successors.
• Collaborate with the Controller and CFO to develop and maintain Intacct financial reports to aid decision making for the departments and executive team.
• Provide training and guidance to departmental users of Intacct, Dynamic Budgets, and other Finance applications.
• Support role in the preparation of the annual budgets for AAJ and the Education Fund and provides support to other AAJ departments as needed.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing process for all entities, including recurring journal entries and NetForum revenue recognition.
• Run monthly financial statement reports for review by Controller and CFO.
• Review monthly financial statements and analyze actual results compared to budgets and projections.
• Prepare and review certain monthly Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations including deferred revenue.
• Lead and manage a team of two direct reports: the Senior Accountant and the Accounts Payable Accountant.
• Oversee the daily operations of direct reports, excluding payroll reviews, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of accounting functions.
• Assist the Controller in monitoring the Finance team's workload to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources.
• Work closely with Business Development & Meetings departments to reconcile deferred revenue related to convention registrations, exhibits, and sponsorships.
• Collaborate with Controller to set up new vendors and manage vendor data changes in MineralTree/Intacct.
• Support expense report general ledger journal entry preparation.
• Prepare financial statements as needed for Foundation and AAJ PAC.
• Support the annual financial statement audit by preparing reconciliations and schedules.
• Administer annual charitable registrations and renewals with outside vendors.
• Assist Controller and perform ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications
B.S. degree in Accounting and CPA preferred. Minimum of 8+ years full-cycle accounting experience with associations or not-for-profits required. Some public accounting experience preferred. Knowledge and experience applying general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required. Proficiency with entire Microsoft Office Suite products. Advanced Excel skills preferred. Proficiency with automated accounts payable platforms. MineralTree preferred. Experience with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic environment. Ability to work in a team environment. Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
