Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled Thermal Engineer to join our vibrant team, focusing on the advancement of Rondo Heat Battery (RHB) systems. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), heat transfer, and thermodynamics.

Key Responsibilities

As a Thermal Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Collaborating with the engineering team to clarify project goals and requirements.
2. Developing and executing thermal models through CFD simulations, encompassing both steady-state and transient heat transfer and fluid flow analyses for various system components.
3. Performing thorough performance evaluations to enhance the thermal efficiency, performance, and reliability of both existing and new products.
4. Creating 3D CAD models of RHB components utilizing industry-standard CAD software.
5. Assisting in model validation by comparing simulation results with experimental data and field measurements.
6. Documenting simulation outcomes in detail for both internal and external stakeholders.
7. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to incorporate thermal modeling insights into the overall product design.
8. Contributing to the development and refinement of in-house thermal analysis tools.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring:

- A Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in thermal design engineering, with a focus on first-principles.
- A strong grasp of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, CFD, transport phenomena, and thermodynamics fundamentals.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS is advantageous.
- Experience with commercial CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, or OpenFOAM.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The capability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

- A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with programming languages for scripting purposes.
- Experience in high-temperature applications, steam/superheated gas processing systems, furnace systems, fluid/chemical process systems, or industrial systems is a plus.
