Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced cybersecurity engineer with a strong background in infrastructure and security engineering to join our Cortex Exposure Management Scanning team. This role requires a deep understanding of lab setup options, existing frameworks, and the ability to set up lab infrastructure.

Your Impact

  • You will design, develop, and produce lab infrastructure for automated testing and deploying new vulnerability assessment content.
  • You will build out lab deployments as needed, both via hands-on development and through collaboration with other engineers and teams.
  • You will participate in rapid response to emerging threats to ensure we are able to deploy content quickly and meet customer security needs.
  • You will present testing and infrastructure plans to senior leadership.
  • You will work closely with research and engineering teams to understand their concerns, utilize their skills, and enable their testing needs.
  • You will take part in architecture strategy sessions - design solutions that accommodate the requirements of the various teams and groups.
  • You will take ownership of projects, drive them to completion, and support them in production.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, automation, and/or quality in the vulnerability management, penetration testing, or security research space.
  • A deep understanding of Windows, Linux, macOS and Unix-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of lab setup options and existing frameworks, and ability to set up lab infrastructure – including the pros and cons of various infrastructure options.
  • Familiarity with scanning and vulnerability testing fundamentals (open source scanners, TCP/IP and networking protocols, pen testing tools).
  • Experience using cloud managed services (ideally in GCP).
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages.

Compensation Disclosure

The estimated salary for this position is between $170,000 and $277,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
