Role Summary: The Mechanical Repair Specialist is tasked with executing a variety of responsibilities aimed at installing, diagnosing, fixing, and maintaining essential machinery and facilities that support the company's operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct emergency and routine repairs on production machinery.
  • Interpret technical manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance tasks.
  • Identify issues, replace or repair components, and perform testing and adjustments.
  • Recognize faulty operations and defective materials, reporting these and any unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
  • Install and maintain various electrical systems and equipment.
  • Oversee the upkeep and repair of plumbing and electrical systems within the facility, including the replacement of worn or faulty components.
  • Ensure the workspace and equipment are kept in a clean and organized state while adhering to safety protocols.
  • May undertake additional tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
  • Capability to safely operate and obtain certification for fork trucks.
  • Proficiency in operating overhead cranes safely.
  • Strong data entry skills on computer systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Willingness to work extra hours to meet project deadlines.

Educational Background:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with arms, and maintain balance. The role may also require stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Occasionally, the employee may need to crawl, talk, hear, or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • In this role, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels.
