Position Summary:

The role involves capturing x-ray images of specific areas of the human body for diagnostic evaluation while providing essential support to the imaging department. This position focuses solely on plain films and fluoroscopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicates procedures to patients to ensure clarity and understanding, providing relevant educational materials.
  • Facilitates patient transport to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assists in administrative tasks such as filing and delivering patient reports and matching films to appropriate folders.
  • Adheres to radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary exposure to patients.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications as permitted by state and federal regulations.
  • Monitors patients during procedures, reporting any abnormal findings and suggesting protocol updates as necessary.
  • Ensures high-quality submission of images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data.
  • Maintains equipment functionality and reports any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contributes to the upkeep of a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergencies when a CT Technologist is unavailable.
  • Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of an associate's degree or a radiology certification program.

Experience Requirements:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Frequent visual and auditory engagement for patient interaction and equipment monitoring.
  • Regular lifting and moving of patients and objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier objects (25-50 lbs.) and performing physical movements such as bending and twisting.
