Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Complete pertinent documents and maintain accurate records, adhering to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Prepare patient rooms for admission, setting up IV poles and adjusting beds to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Transport patients safely and securely, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital protocols.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Run errands and perform tasks as required, supporting the efficient operation of the nursing unit.
  • Assist licensed personnel in providing a safe and comfortable environment, replenishing patient rooms with essentials as needed.
  • Perform unit-specific patient care tasks, documenting on the flowsheet and reporting changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering and maintaining stock items as needed.
  • Keep unit supplies organized and tidy, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and communicate effectively with team members during and between shifts.
  • Respond to patient call lights and phone calls, providing timely and courteous assistance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • CNA License in state of employment required.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
