Furniture Repair Specialist

As a Furniture Repair Specialist at Cardis Furniture & Mattresses, you will be responsible for evaluating and repairing home furnishings in accordance with company quality standards. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and repair home furnishings to meet company quality standards
Perform repairs at guest's location as needed
Assist in the prepping of home furnishings for delivery
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform In-Home service as needed, including route service calls, loading replacement parts, and ensuring service vehicles are properly stocked
Adhere to safety standards and wear safety equipment as necessary
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Carpentry and/or upholstery repair experience preferred
Expert knowledge of furniture construction, including reclining mechanisms
Ability to effectively use power and hand tools
Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal communication skills
Working Conditions:
This role is performed primarily in a Shop environment, but may require off-site repairs at guest's locations based on department workload. Exposure to electric knives and small ovens with high temperatures may be required. Ability to operate power and hand tools, lift at least 100 pounds, and stand, bend, crouch, kneel, carry furniture, push, pull, grip/grasp, and use fine finger movements is necessary. Potential exposure to chemicals through skin and/or inhalation may occur. Must be available to work day or evening.
