Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in coordinating patient care, providing education, and ensuring seamless transitions. This position requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of patients and families, adhering to the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model.
Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
- Support professional nursing practice across various settings and the continuum of care.
- Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care.
- Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts, preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and mentoring activities.
- Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, and on-call.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills.
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- Az and Fl - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Midwest - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
