We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our Office of the General Counsel, you will provide expert legal advice on civilian personnel law and other areas of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice on civilian personnel matters, including personnel law and anti-discrimination laws.
- Supervise attorneys handling civilian personnel litigation and provide backup support on military personnel matters.
- Conduct research, analyze findings, and apply relevant laws and regulations to complex administrative law matters.
- Develop strong attorney-client relationships and provide exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
- Supervise and lead attorneys, and have a strong understanding of the organization of the DON and its personnel management systems.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- Must have a minimum of five-and-a-half years of recent and relevant professional legal experience.
- Must have graduated with a J.D. or LL.M. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
