Position Overview

As a key member of our team, the Wind Technician III will report directly to the Site Manager and play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of wind turbine systems. This advanced position requires a high level of expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to ensure optimal performance and safety of wind turbine operations. Your ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior technicians will be essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable pitch and variable speed wind turbines.
  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance, repairs, and replacements of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to rectify malfunctions.
  • Interpret and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting and verification purposes.
  • Be available for a flexible on-call schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of technical experience in the wind industry, or six months of relevant experience combined with a Wind Technician program certificate, or three years of experience in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems without prior wind industry experience.
  • Proficient in the use of intermediate-level power tools, including hydraulic and diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices and protocols.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Passport.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with internet navigation and data interpretation.
  • Capability to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and their applications.
  • Understanding of wind turbine system components and the ability to perform necessary repairs.
