Role Overview

Sorenson Communications is expanding its Video Relay Service, seeking skilled Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpreters to provide high-quality interpreting services in the US and Canada.

About the Position

This exciting opportunity involves working as an independent contractor with flexible scheduling, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL), and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English, ensuring accurate communication and comprehension.
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and certification requirements, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate full adherence to Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree, preferred but not required.
  • Interpreter certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an interpreter, preferred but not required.
