The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for major construction cost estimates and will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects
  • Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
  • Prepare estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, and obtaining materials
  • Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline
  • Regularly report to management and keep clients updated on project status
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques
  • Lead a unified estimation department and train new estimators as needed
  • Collaborate with pre-construction teams and project managers throughout construction to successfully complete jobs
  • Solicit and maintain good relations with subcontractors and vendors
  • Perform post-job analysis with job project managers and department managers

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent degree
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction field
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, methodologies, and software
  • Knowledge of local construction codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
