Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurology Inpatient Services team at UAB Health System. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in collaboration with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences, medical history, and current health status.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with an Acute Care NP certification or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing or licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required, depending on the unit/department.
