Job Title: Senior Principal Engineer Mission Assurance

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer Mission Assurance to join our team in Rocket Center, West Virginia. As a key member of our Defense Systems sector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate high-quality reports, including First Pass Yield, First Article Inspection, Cost of Quality, and other relevant metrics.
  • Analyze data and drive process improvements to meet required standards and specifications.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans based on statistical methods.
  • Review data and statistical analysis to assess process capability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize Lean tools, such as risk assessment, 8D, DFMEA, and PFMEA, to drive process excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, conducting periodic audits to ensure compliance with plans.
  • Validate and coordinate product readiness for use or delivery, including FAAT qualifications of new suppliers.
  • Provide and support failure analysis processes for program hardware.
  • Perform independent risk assessments on Mission Assurance issues and communicate findings.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience or a master's degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean Six Sigma training and certification.
  • STEM degree from an accredited college or university.
  • APQP process experience.
  • AS9100 experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to use custom manufacturing software (i.e. Solumina) to maintain quality records, traceability, etc.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.

The salary range for this position is $114,900 - $172,300. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
