Janitorial Supervisor

Job Summary

Allied Universal Janitorial Services is seeking a Janitorial Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our janitorial team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in janitorial services and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and delegate the workload of janitorial staff
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure work is completed to customer specifications
• Answer calls from security or management for emergency cleaning
• Ensure janitor closets are cleaned and stocked
• Oversee table, chair, and stage set-ups as required
• Inform maintenance department and supervisor of any maintenance deficiencies
• Conduct safety training and coach and mentor janitorial team members
• Perform payroll duties as needed
• Make productivity recommendations to leadership staff
• Participate in selection and placement of janitorial team members
• Provide team feedback and guidance for improvement

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of janitorial work experience, preferably in a leadership role
• Ability to troubleshoot and manage stressful situations
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
• Write informatively, clearly, and accurately
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to self-initiate work and be proactive
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills
• Active listening
• Assess and evaluate situations effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience in the janitorial or housekeeping industry
• High school diploma or equivalent
