The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a skilled Plumber I to join our team. As a Plumber I, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing water and drainage systems in offices, houses, and other structures.

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair heating, water, and drainage systems in offices, houses, and other structures.
• Plumbing Fixtures and Systems: Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as showers, wash basins, urinals, toilet bowls, and toilet tanks.
• Lead Caulking and Pipe Installation: Perform lead caulking, wipe, and test lead joints.
• Sprinkler System Installation and Repair: Install and repair sprinkler systems.
• Faucet Repair and Pipe Maintenance: Replace washers in leaky faucets, mend/replace broken pipes, and open clogged drains.
• Blueprint Reading and Material Estimation: Read blueprints and compute material lists.
• Job Estimation and Planning: Estimate time and materials needed to perform a job.
• Problem-Solving and Supervision: Determine what modifications in plans will be necessary when obstructions are met while installing plumbing. May assign tasks to other plumbers and supervise the work of helpers.

• Licenses and Certifications: Possess a valid State of Hawaii Journey Worker Plumber License or Master Plumber License.
• Driver's License: Have a current, valid driver's license.
• Lift and Carry Ability: Be able to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift/carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds assisted by another person and/or use of equipment.
