Core Responsibilities:
- Support medical oncology interventional studies across various phases, focusing on solid tumors, including lung, head and neck, melanoma, and neurology.
- Deliver compassionate and competent oncology nursing care while coordinating with clinical teams and ensuring adherence to protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of clinical trials, enrolling participants and managing their care throughout the study.
- Engage in critical thinking to ensure accuracy in patient information and protocol compliance.
- Perform administrative duties on non-clinic days, including documentation and project management tasks.
- Collaborate with the Protocol Activation office to initiate new clinical trial protocols.
- Review patient charts to confirm eligibility and gather necessary documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reporting Serious Adverse Events (SAE) and managing medical records.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a valid New Jersey nursing license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a hospital setting, with at least 1 year in oncology.
- Experience in a clinical research role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay complex information to patients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinical trial management systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform various physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Important Note:
Vitalief collaborates with major medical centers and academic institutions, necessitating compliance with annual vaccination and health screening protocols.
