Job Summary

The Lead Steward is a key member of the Montage International team, responsible for assisting the stewarding supervisor and Executive Steward in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the back-of-house areas. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all ware washing equipment is in good working order and maintain a clean and organized environment in all back-of-house areas, including kitchens and walk-in storage spaces.
• Deliver food and supplies to banquet events and assist with the breakdown of stations at the conclusion of events.
• Drive and maintain the kitchen recycling program, ensuring compliance with company sustainability initiatives.
• Assist the Executive Chef with special projects and initiatives, providing support and expertise as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience in stewarding within a luxury resort environment.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
• Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
• Knowledge of hotel stewarding operations and procedures.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in a day, with the ability to lift up to 15-40 pounds on a regular basis. The successful candidate must also be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill the demands of the role.

Compensation

The pay scale for this position is $22.81 per hour, exclusive of incentive pay and benefits.
