Job Summary: As a Material Handling Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility. You will supervise a team of production drivers and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Powered Industrial Lift Truck: You will be responsible for operating a powered industrial lift truck in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Move Materials Safely: You will be responsible for moving materials in amounts that avoid personal injury or damage to equipment, material, product, or the facility.
  • Unload and Stack Materials: You will be responsible for unloading and stacking materials in designated areas, ensuring that all materials are properly stored and organized.
  • Assist in Die Change-Over Events: You will be responsible for assisting in die change-over events as required, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Supply Workers with Materials: You will be responsible for supplying workers with materials as required, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and easily accessible.
  • Load and Unload Shipping Trucks: You will be responsible for loading and unloading shipping trucks, ensuring that all materials are properly loaded and secured.
  • Interpret Labels: You will be responsible for interpreting labels to ensure proper disposition of materials, ensuring that all materials are properly identified and stored.
  • Weigh Materials: You will be responsible for weighing materials or products and recording the results on tags or labels, ensuring that all necessary records are kept up to date.
  • Refuel Propane Gas: You will be authorized to refuel propane gas as needed, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Train New Employees: You will be responsible for training new or less experienced employees on the job, ensuring that all necessary skills and knowledge are transferred.
  • Maintain Records: You will be responsible for maintaining proper records of the work performed, ensuring that all necessary records are kept up to date.
  • Perform Maintenance Checks: You will be authorized to perform maintenance checks to ensure that the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Initiate Action: You will be authorized to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, processes, and quality systems.
  • Report Safety or Mechanical Problems: You will be responsible for reporting any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to a supervisor, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to address the issue.
  • Fill Out Daily and Weekly Reports: You will be responsible for filling out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check-off lists and weekly scrap audits, ensuring that all necessary records are kept up to date.
  • Perform Other Essential Job Functions: You will be responsible for performing other essential job functions as assigned, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

High School Diploma: You will need a high school diploma or equivalent and an operator's permit.
