Chef Specialist

Reata Glen is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that offers a unique work environment for culinary professionals. We are seeking a skilled Cook II to join our team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

The salary for this position is estimated at $21-$22 per hour, with opportunities for growth and professional development. This role involves the proper preparation of all food items based on standardized recipes, ensuring excellence, quality, temperature, and presentation of food. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and serving food items according to recipes and standards.
• Assisting in food prep assignments, including daily prep, special functions, banquets, catering, holiday, and special events.
• Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
• Planning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours and determining the amount and type of food required for daily menus.
• Following safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment and complying with department sanitation standards and personal hygiene/uniform standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining experience. Preferred qualifications include healthcare food & beverage experience, safe and efficient knife skills, ability to plan and organize work, interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards, and legally authorized to work in the United States.
