Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at St. Tammany Health System. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for manipulating ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manipulate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues
  • Position patients and use knowledge of anatomy and physiology to optimize image quality
  • Process images and perform various duties to provide quality ultrasound services
  • Track each study and acquire PACS images
  • Select technical factors to produce optimum quality ultrasound images
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program or 10 years of ultrasound experience
  • Registered or registry eligible for ultrasound physics, OB/GYN, abdomen, vascular, and small body parts
  • Current BLS certification through ILCOR-approved courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in ultrasound imaging
Physical Demands

The Diagnostic Sonographer must possess good physical health and be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required, and the ability to work in a moderate noise level environment is necessary.
