Inspector/Packer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Inspector/Packer to join our team at Moulded Fibre Technology Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured parts and providing feedback to Machine Operators to optimize production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect manufactured parts to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
• Provide feedback to Machine Operators to optimize production and improve quality.
• Ensure correct pack out procedures are being followed.
• Build pallets according to specifications.
• Participate in a variety of cleaning duties during production shut down.
• Operate hot press and ensure the quality of final product.
• Meet or exceed predetermined rate of speed of hot press products.
• Gauge, calibrate, and inspect finished product according to customer and internal requirements.
• Communicate quality issues to Machine Operators, Working Team Lead, and Pulpers for corrective measures.
• Train and direct new Inspector/Packers on customer-specific quality and packing requirements.
• Maintain work area in clean and safe condition.
• Cross-trained as a Pulper, Presser, Material Handler.

Requirements:

• High school, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work at pace determined by machines.
• Must adhere to our PPE policy: safety glasses, safety shoes, face coverings, and other special PPE dependent on tasks.

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:

• The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and/or sit.
• The incumbent must be able to use their hands to finger, handle, and touch materials, parts, and equipment.
• The position requires the ability to both talk and hear.
• Required to lift 10 pounds frequently; and pushes and/or lifts up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Although not typically performed, the incumbent is required when lifting over 40 pounds to use prescribed methods which include material handling equipment.

Visual Demands:

• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• In the production environment, the position is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• May infrequently be exposed to work in elevated areas.
• May be exposed to above-average/below-average temperatures.
• The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud.
• Employees are expected to comply with existing safety procedures including but not limited to proper lifting mechanics, use of protective equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.
