We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks on shipboard construction and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities- Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
- Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
- Lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates to ensure precise alignment.
- Use measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces that require welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and ensure high-quality results.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in special projects as required to support the success of the team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of related experience in welding and shipboard construction and maintenance.
- US Citizenship required.
