Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to provide technical accounting, budget, and administrative support for Program Managers under the direction of the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor, analyze, and maintain financial transactions for a wide variety of programs
- Track revenues and expenditures by funding source and/or subcontract
- Reconcile grant and program financial statements to the financial records by fund
- Prepare a variety of reports, statements, records, analyses, and financial compilations for Federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Prepare grant close-outs and biennial reports
- Bill on contract awards and prepares the necessary billing documents
- Track due dates and prepare reports for grantor agencies
- Maintain and document internal accounting controls as required by Federal, state, and local grantors
- Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
- One to three years of related experience, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficient with computers and ability to learn and use a variety of personal computer software
- Bachelor's Degree
- Seminars or courses in grant administration and accounting
- Knowledge of Federal Grant Accounting Standards, Uniform Guidance, and EDGAR Regulations
Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent communication with external vendors and colleagues, the ability to enter data and written communications in electronic format in a timely manner.
