About the Job
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a skilled professional to join its team as a Hazardous Material and Packaging Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge in support of PNNL's hazardous materials transportation and packaging program.

Responsibilities:
- Develop regulatory interpretations and procedures in support of laboratory hazardous material transportation and packaging activities
- Participate in internal and external program assessments or audits and develop corrective actions
- Classify and document required compliance reporting of abnormal events

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience -OR- Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- Domestic and international hazardous material/waste shipping regulations (DOT, IAEA, ICAO/IATA, IMDG, TDG, ADR), and State-specific enforcement per Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Out-of-Service criteria
- Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements with administrative and technician-level personnel, technical/professional staff, and senior management
