The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the role of Behavior Services Manager. This position will play a critical role in supporting school teams in developing and implementing structured and individualized interventions utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and discrete trial programs for behavior reduction and skill acquisition.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, monitor, and supervise the implementation of structured and individualized intervention programs at the school and classroom level, focusing on the principles of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Work with school teams to analyze student behavior and design behavior intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with community partners to maximize services for students.
- Work as a team member to ensure delivery of high-quality intervention across environments; model best practices for school teams and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of intervention delivery.
- Attend training opportunities as assigned by the Director of Behavior Services and Executive Director of Intervention Services.
- Maintain the privacy of all student-specific information (as required by HIPAA/FERPA).
- Plan and deliver professional development that will lead to documented improvements in special education service delivery at the school/teacher level.
- Collaborate with school and district teams to ensure that behavior interventions complement the district's equity and least restrictive environment promise.
- Manage and complete projects and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Director of Behavior Services.
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years' experience developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans in an educational setting.
- Experience in the development of Behavior Support Plans, Behavior Intervention Plans, and individualized curriculum plans related to Applied Behavior Analysis (DTT, task analysis, incidental teaching strategies, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Individual Education Plan with specific knowledge around sections related to transition and post-secondary planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in completing Behavior Intervention Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments, data collection, and report writing.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
- Demonstrated growth toward cultural competence.
- A strong commitment to the students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and a personal sense of accountability around the implementation of the strategic priorities.
- Deep knowledge of the issues and dynamics of inequity in education and passion for the district's mission.
- Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of Intervention Specialists who work with specific populations.
- Ability to provide objective feedback on special education programming, compliance, and implementation.
- Knowledge of laws relevant to special education (IDEIA, Ohio Operating Standards, FERPA/HIPAA).
- Proven experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Results-driven, with excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Successful in overcoming significant barriers to meet goals in a fast-paced and changeable environment.
- Able to critically assess challenges and identify flexible, effective solutions.
- Ability to perform multifaceted tasks with minimum supervision.
- Regular travel to schools is required; one must have reliable transportation.
