Machinist - Heavy Industrial Construction Specialist

A-Lert Construction Services, a division of Centurion Industries, Inc., is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in the heavy industrial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine shop operations, with the ability to produce machined components to specifications and operate manual engine lathes.

• Produce machined components to specifications by studying sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information.
• Operate manual engine lathe and maintain equipment by keeping machine and work area clean.
• Maintain continuity between co-workers and use material moving equipment.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.
• Review quality issues with quality assurance, manufacturing support, and engineering to resolve quality issues and take corrective action as required.
• Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work.
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

• Considerable knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Considerable knowledge of raw materials, productions processes, and quality control.
• Familiarity with lathe tooling and use of measuring instruments.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and excellent time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with others.
