Mold Setup Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mold Setup Specialist to join our production team at WeatherTech Direct. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to promptly and accurately set up, change over, start-up, and monitor processes of injection molding and thermoforming machines.

• This role involves operating overhead cranes to move molds between mold racks, machines, and pallets, as well as operating sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and manual lifting devices to move molds and other required items around the production facility.
• The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of machine setup experience, with prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, reach truck) and a high school diploma or equivalent.

1. Operate overhead crane to move molds between mold racks, machines, and pallets.
2. Read and understand product briefs and process sheets to ensure accuracy in machine setup.
3. Operate HMI/MIU to optimize platen heights, install program for robots/robotics lines, and input process numbers for mold changes, set temperatures for molds, heater bands, and nozzle tips.
4. Clean and inspect molds between each use; report any damage to Supervisor, send out any damaged molds for repair.
5. Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
6. Train new and existing team members on different functions of the work area to ensure all can perform each task properly.
7. Communicate clearly and work as part of a team.
8. Work a full-time schedule; work overtime as business demands including extended hours and/or weekends.

• 2+ years of machine setup experience.
• 1 year of prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, reach truck).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of plastics injection molding/thermoforming.
• Able to successfully complete the WeatherTech Forklift Certification Program upon hire.
• Read, write, and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English.
• Basic math, measuring, and computer skills required.

The base hourly rate of pay starts at $22.00 per hour, with opportunities for end-of-year bonuses and pay increases based on performance.
