Hebrew Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer to teach Modern Hebrew to students at American Jewish University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Hebrew language and culture, as well as experience in teaching adults.

Responsibilities:

• Teach reading, writing, grammar, and conversational Hebrew to students with varying levels of proficiency.
• Develop and implement lesson plans using the Ulpan method of "Hebrew with Hebrew".
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage classroom environment and ensure student engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve teaching methods.

Requirements:

• Native fluency in Hebrew or equivalent level of proficiency.
• Teaching credential or equivalent experience.
• Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting.
• Ability to teach online and in-person classes.
• Proficiency in Zoom and other digital tools.

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting and computer work.
