About the Role

Blue Shield of California is seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our Large Group Pricing team. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in pricing and forecasting our Large Group Health Insurance products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pricing and Forecasting: Apply analytical tools to project future costs and premiums for Large Group customers.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct analysis, assess risk, and develop pricing and trends.
  • Actuarial Risk Analysis: Evaluate actuarial risk related analysis, including provider reimbursement terms.
  • Complex Formulations: Coordinate, prepare, perform, and audit actuarial analyses to develop complex actuarial formulations.
  • Predictive Analytics: Perform data exploration using statistical programming languages and deploy predictive analytics techniques.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct, coordinate, and develop evaluation and financial reporting standards for internal and external reports.
  • Standard Analytic Reports: Produce timely various standard analytic reports for internal and/or external use.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with a minor in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional actuarial experience.
  • Credentials: Typically, has completed 1 to 2 courses towards the eventual attainment of the Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
