Job Summary

As an EMT - EastCare Specialist with Vidant Health, you will be responsible for operating ambulances, including Mobile Intensive Care and Neonatal Units, to transport sick, injured or convalescent patients to and from the hospital. You will administer basic life support/first aid to transported patients, including moving patients in and out of ambulances with knowledge of all applicable medical equipment. Additionally, you will perform basic ambulance maintenance, inspections, restocking and equipment cleaning daily with vehicle detailing weekly. You will also be responsible for communication of medical information during transport, documentation of appropriate information involving the transport and accounts for transport charges when received.

Responsibilities

• Operate ambulances, including Mobile Intensive Care and Neonatal Units, to transport patients to and from the hospital.
• Administer basic life support/first aid to transported patients, including moving patients in and out of ambulances with knowledge of all applicable medical equipment.
• Perform basic ambulance maintenance, inspections, restocking and equipment cleaning daily with vehicle detailing weekly.
• Communicate medical information during transport and document appropriate information involving the transport.
• Account for transport charges when received.

Requirements

• High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education.
• NC OEMS EMT Certification.
• NC Drivers License & Emergency Medical Technician certification.
• More than 1 year but less than 2 years experience working with a Rescue Squad or Ambulance Service.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
